Family changes everyone in so many different ways. You suddenly realise that the 9-5 (or for some 24/7) job isn’t so important anymore, but your children are. But what happens if you have been in a highly successful profession and the career change is not so straightforward? Thats where the seeds for our eSeasons business began.
I’d always looked at my team as a family, but now I had my own to look after aswell. My focus shifted onto caring for the family, and then onto healthy living and eating. Selecting baby food with: no sugar, checking ingredients, trying to work out if foods were grown with pesticides, asking whether the foods had too many food miles, or what food is in season, became the norm rather than the exception. Carrying hot water for baby milk was just routine….
My Team
Looking around me at lunchtime in my work, it was clear that there were 2 groups of people. Those that were trying to eat healthily (my colleague tucking into fresh salad, pasta, and heathy snacks. She has so many small food boxes around her that I’m wondering how big her bag needs to be just to carry them all), and those that just went to the local bakery to pick up a snack and coffee.
They all talked about trying to do better, but some wanted to bring hot soup, others healthy salads, and some moaned about the new recycling charges on the disposable coffee cups that their favourite coffee shop now charges.
My Family
For my own family, one now starting school, I just couldn’t find a lunchbox that was of a good enough quality, that would remain leakproof in my boys’ hands, and allow me to give him the various snacks fruit or veg that he likes to eat. (Whilst we parents are still carrying hot water for baby milk)
